Briefed and Ordered

Mothers are wonderful, beautiful creatures. Mine has the most enviable collection of distressed leather satchels. I borrowed this one today, and it was so, so hard giving it back!!

We had a fun mother-daughter day today, full of Japanese food, lingere shopping, book shopping (I splurged!) and... ordering increadible jewellery from Karen Walker!

I was given a voucher from my parents for christmas, so I went this morning to make my pick. Something beautiful and highly exciting is being made for me... Agh!! Unfortunatly it will take about two weeks until I can show it to you all... I'll try to remain patient.

White Christmas

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!

We have had the most wonderful day, full of love, happiness, family, delicious food and lovely gifts. I feel so spoilt!

Beautiful gifts galore! I cannot stop smiling, it is just such a happy day.
I wore this nightgown that I recently bought. I thought it would make such a lovely breezy summers day dress, and it is increadibly comfortable. Paired with my electric heels, it was the perfect holiday outfit. Oh, and the fairy on my wrist is a band-aid that my sister bought me. Aren't they adorable!? She also sewed me this apron below...

I am so grateful for all the time and energy she put into making it for me, it is such a beautiful present!

I wish you all love and happiness xx

Dreams of Santa, Dreams of Snow

Goodness, can you believe that it is so, so very close to christmas!? Its kind of crazy as well, as I will be having my christmas when most of you are enjoying the 24th...

I'm doing some last minute shopping and christmas baking today. My family always bakes a lot of different christmas treats that we give to neighbours, work collegues, friends and the like. I definatly believe that chrismas is not about the amount of money you spend, but the thought and time. I would much, much rather recieve some homemade chutney, or a $2 bookmark than an expensive gift where no consideration has been given to the person recieving it. Its nice to recieve gifts that show you you're understood.

The lovely, lovely tis serendepity gave me two blog awards the other day. Her blog is so inspiring and beautiful, and it is such a wonderful honour to recieve these from such a gorgeous blogger! The awards are "The Butterfly Award" for the coolest blog they've ever known, and the lapaginademilady award for those who work in an anonymous way, during their work schedule and as a hobby without trying to receive something in exchange, just for the pleasure of entertaining and make others happy. I in turn am passing these on to:

1. Yes Please Mademoiselle. Stephanie is the sweetest, and her blog is so amazing. She never fails to inspire me and fill my day with a little more beauty.
2. La Couturier. This blog amazes me. Beautiful posts such as "Things to Love Thursday" and "Why don't you..." make me appreciate so much that she shares her love of life with us. Thank you thank you!
3. fashion.inspires.me. Eva is insanely gorgeous, and her style is flawless. She shines through her photographs with such happiness and beauty, it is truly inspirational.

Lazy Sunday

Why don't you
  • Be the centre of attention and love every second of it.
  • Sing carols at the top of you lungs and not care.
  • Soak dried apricots in gin overnight then indulge in them for breakfast.
  • Write poetry under the stars.
  • Read Tolstoy in bed all day.
  • Laugh out loud on the bus.
  • Wear beautiful lingere and your favourite fragrance -and nothing else- all day long.
  • Buy a kitten.
  • Draw love hearts on you skin with a coloured pen.
  • Go to the ballet.
  • Write a letter to your favourite model.
  • Get up with the sun.
  • Write a love story.
  • Read Paulo Coehlo.
  • Not wash your hair, beacause you just cannot be bothered.
  • Watch Baz Luhrmann's films and cry in each one.
  • Have champagne and strawberries for breakfast on the 25th of December.
  • Read 'The night before Christmas' on christmas eve.
  • Hug your parents.

Senorita

I have been completely absent from blog-land this week! Sorry! It's just that I've been working as much as I can, and as I work in retail I pretty much wear the same outfit/s on repeat each day (we have to wear current season clothes from the store).

So I jazzed it up a bit today and wore this ruffle-sleeved silk blouse to the supermarket and post office! Great fun. I sewed it at the beginning of the year, but haven't worn it up until now, as it was too cold previously, and the massive sleeves make it hard to fit a jacket over the top...

I really love it, as although there has been a lot of ruffle-enhanced clothing out and about lately, I haven't seen barely any ruffly sleeves. I found the most beautiful, crepe-esque silk to sew it in, which is like heaven to wear. ( I am a complete fabric nerd!)

SIX days to go!!

Jack fell down and lost his crown and Jill came tumbling after

So... I'm a tad clumsy. I decided to try the function on my camera that takes photographs one after the other in quick repetition (Can't remember what it's called). I ended up tripping over my own feet mid-pose, and ass-planting into the carpet. Classy.

Yesterday I wan't feeling too terrific (I'm suspecting the miso that was past its use-by date...) so I spent the day in bed reading the first two Stephenie Meyer novels in her 'Twilight' sage. SO addictive! The film comes out here on boxing day and I'm increadibly eager to see it.

I went thrift-store hunting with my sister today, but unfortunatly didn't find anything that overally took my fancy. I am lusting after some American Apparel pieces at the moment though... Its almost worth the crippling exchange rate... Should I, or shouldn't I?

Here's the one serious picture I managed. In case the above images are a bit too embarrasing for any readers to bear with...

Invade my Mind

Top of my inspiration images at the moment. Save for the above ring- Its the top of my lust list!

This time next year I will be in New York city, working during my four month vacation from University. I cannot stop dreaming about it... I wish I were going this year instead.

I'm wanting quite a few pairs of pants at the moment. These are the perfect harem pants, that I think i'm going to attempt to sew... It will be interesting to say the least! Slashed jeans are in store for a diy too.

I'm working a lot leading up to christmas (13 days!) but am trying to find every opportunity to sew and visit all your wonderful blogs. Ahhh I wish it were next year!!!

Wilted Denim

Looking at these pictures, I realised that I am one of those people who scarcely looks at their back view when dressing. I never realised that the these shorts have such a saggy bottom to them!

I am going on a denim-short hunt early next week though, so at least I now know to look at my backside before purchasing a new pair!

I bought my family's christmas gifts yestersay, and am so, so excited to see them under our tree. They are the first ones so far, but I cannot say what I bought them, as my sister reads this sometimes...

Queenstown Rendezvous

Goodness, my apoligies for being completly missing for the past...week. I have been on a mini-holiday in Queenstown (In New Zealand's South Island), which was completely amazing. I could not get over how beautiful it was, it was so increadible.

Unfortunatly there is a grand total of two photographs of me, as I was on the other side of the camera almost the whole time. These two are of me trying on the most awesome sheep ear warmers. I was so close to buying them, as they were so toasty and adorable.

I wasn't planning on buying anything, but (yet again) beautiful underwear tempted me! I have an uncontrollable obsession with pretty lingere...
